- Supplies needed:
- Black cardstock covered with optional clear packing tape
- Two coordinating cardstock pieces (Use from a cardstock tablet so they match nicely)
- Art glitter glue from Amazon
- A2 sized (5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches) card blank, I get these at Dollar General
- Happy birthday word dies. I used large ones
- A2 sized mat dies, ( you can measure and cut if you don’t have these, they need to be 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and 4 x 5 1/4.) I used some from Waffle flower
- Decorative brad or jewel. I got mine in a box of supplies from Shopgoodwill.com. I will tell you all about this great website later
- Any manual die cutting machine. I use a sizzix big shot plus
Instructions:
Run your happy birthday word dies through your die cutting machine, The clear packing tape is kind of a hint because it makes the words shine and also makes the die cut a lot more sturdy than without the tape. However, the tape is optional.
Cut your coordinated paper layers by using dies or measure and cut them.
Attach the mat layers to your card using minimal glue. Then attach the happy birthday words you cut out. I put mine at an angle. Then I attached the brad but you could use a jewel instead. If attaching a brad you’ll need a hole punch tool. If you do not want the brads back to show, then do this part before you glue your layer onto the card. Let it all dry and either stamp or write your birthday message inside the card.
Remember if you have a bulky card you will need more postage. If it is flatter it will cost less. You can adapt these instructions to make many types of cards such as a masculine version. I would be super excited to see your cards. Please send me a picture of your creations.
